This Efun is a wholistic ritual. The 3 ingredients that are ground into powder come together to create a divine unity. The border between death and life/womb and world/dark and light as the eggshells/cascarilla. The realm of the waters as the seashells. The realm of the earth as the Ayilo. Guided by my spirits, dreams and visions, I've created this unique Efun body paint using well sourced, all natural ingredients including:
- Ghanain ayilo clay
- Ghanain shea butter
- Freshwater fossils from the potomac river (collected by me!)
Ritually ground down into fine powder by mortar and pestle and integrated with natural, moisturizing and sacred binders (like coconut oil and vitamin E oil). Anointing your body, altar, or other spaces with Efun holds protective enforcement, strong purifying energy, and conducts divine communications. It is traditionally used in practices like Santeria, Vodoun, Candomble and Ifa. Mami Wata Sanctuary Signature Efun does not resemble traditional Efun, it is a spirit led recipe not known to be made before. It does hold the properties mentioned above as well as fossil specific ancestral awakening and water spirit connection.
